Barcelona goalkeeper Marc-Andre ter Stegen is keen to return to action soon after recovering from a knee injury and training with the team for the first time in six months. The
33-year-old German required knee surgery after playing against Villarreal in September. But recovered ahead of schedule and returned to partial training with the team-mates for Monday’s session.

The good news for Flick and Barça is that Wojciech Szczesny is playing so well that there’s absolutely no need to rush Ter Stegen back at all. Especially because UEFA’s rules state that Ter Stegen can only return to Barça’s Champions League squad if he takes Szczesny’s place.
Maybe Ter Stegen can play the last couple of La Liga matches if Barça were to wrap up the title earlier than expected, but for now all signs point to Szczesny remaining the starter until the end of the season.
During Ter Stegen’s injury, Barca signed retired Wojciech Szczesny as their replacement and in February, Hansi Flick confirmed the Polish veteran. “Becoming the team’s number one”
ahead of Wednesday’s Copa del Rey semi-final second leg against Atletico Madrid, Flick was asked about Stegen’s return:
