Las Palmas goalkeeper Jasper Cillessen has undergone surgery to repair a perforated intestine after a challenge. The

former Netherlands international suffered the injury in a clash with Celta Vigo striker Borja Iglesias during the 1-1 draw at the weekend.
Cillessen was stretchered off in the 27th minute. And was immediately taken to a nearby hospital. Where he underwent surgery to repair the perforated intestine.
“Our goalkeeper Jasper Cillessen underwent surgery to repair a perforated small intestine,” Las Palmas said.
“It was a laparoscopic operation. The injury was the result of a collision with Borja Iglesias.”
However, Las Palmas did not say how long the 35-year-old will be out for.

Las Palmas did not say for how long Cillessen is expected to be sidelined.
Cillessen joined from Nijmegen last summer and has made 27 appearances in all competitions for the club.
Las Palmas are currently battling relegation and are 19th in the table, just a point behind safety. And they will face Real Sociedad this Sunday.
